JURA C3 — super-automatic espresso machine with pulse extraction

Bean to cup, without a grinder, a tamper or a decision

Everything in the semi-automatic range asks you to learn something. This does not. Beans go in, a button gets pressed, and the machine grinds, doses, tamps and brews without you touching the coffee.

How it works

The pulse extraction process pushes water through the puck in intervals rather than one continuous push, which is how a machine that dispenses in seconds gets flavour out of a short drink. The thermoblock flushes before each cycle, so the water heating your coffee was not sitting in the pipe since the last one. Controls are physical push buttons rather than a touchscreen. An app connection is optional, not required.

Who it suits

A good fit if you want good coffee without a routine, several people with different tastes use the machine, and mornings are short.

Consider another machine if you want to control the grind, the dose or the shot — a super-automatic decides those for you — or you want microfoam you have textured yourself.
